everything is melting!

Now that the sun has been out for about a week we are starting to see a bit of melting. In this pic you can barely see a bump in the snow to the right of the dog tracks where my motorcycle is buried (standing upright of course).
In this pic a giant cornice has broken away from the roof of the unit next to ours. It is pushing hard on the window, and if it completely breaks off, it could go through the window below. Crazy stuff eh?

more fun

We had a busy weekend with all kinds of people in town for President's Day. Here's what's happened so far. We snowboarded Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, then took a break for some snow golf at the third annual snow golf tournament in Dillon. Here's a pic (I forgot to take pics during the actual golfing).

Then, after church Sunday, Jillian and her new Swiss friend, Stephanie, went cross country skiing at the Frisco Nordic Center. Jillian is getting to practice her french!Then we went night skiing with Chris and Sarah. crazy day at copper

today was the third ski day in our winter rec. program. it was a very cold (-4) day. we had at least three kids get frostbite, one concussion, and possibly one broken clavicle. thankfully that was the worst! most of the kids did one run and came in for hot cocoa. they did this all day! lots of sugar for them. i am posting pics of some of my kids.

It was a frigid/cloudy/icy day at Copper Mt. today. But it was fun. Jillian and I were chaperones for her school ski day. Even without the sun we still got a couple of pictures. Here are a couple of me trying my rails. Jillian will post some of her students later.

peaks trail

Jillian and I, Chris and Sara, and Lori skied the Peaks Trail yesterday. It is ten miles from Breckenridge to Frisco. We skied it earlier this year with Pete and Katie also. It has snowed so much since that the trail is sluggish, it's weird. All the downhills seem to be leveled out some with snow. It was still fun though. This is a pic of Jillian and I under the snow arch. This is all of us (them) taking a snack break. Chris very much enjoys carrots.

Jimmy and I have been painting stairs this week. We have two emergency exit stairwells that are seven stories tall! 280 steps! Oh boy!

We had to paint the grey first, then go back and cut in the white all around it.
